When you expect the worst from people-they will deliver.
When you expect the worst, you’re assuming that something bad will happen. This is called catastrophizing, or worst-case scenario thinking. Catastrophizing is a tendency to exaggerate negative outcomes and anticipate problems where they most likely do not exist. It can be a symptom of anxiety, depression, and trauma. People who like to feel in control (and are therefore intolerant of uncertainty) are more likely to catastrophize.
